Concordia offers a Bachelors of Art degree in music.  Each student selects an emphasis, which guides their selection of course electives.  Music Major Components
The Music Major...
with Music Education emphasis - become certified to teach K-12 music (California single-subject credential), optional Lutheran teacher Certification through Christ College   (course requirements)
with Church Music emphasis - prepare to lead a church music program, including the option of becoming a called worker in the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS) through the Director of Parish Music program  (course requirements)
with Liberal Arts emphasis - prepare for graduate school or the professional field through an individualized program of study as a performer, composer, scholar, or business leader; this emphasis can also be constructed as a second major  (course requirements)

Associated Majors...  
Liberal Arts Major with a Music Concentration - become certified to teach elementary school (California Elementary Subject Matter Preparation Program), optional Lutheran teacher certification through Christ College    (course requirements)
Humanities and Fine Arts Major - prepare for graduate school or the professional field through an individualized program of study focusing on communication, writing, philosophical discernment, and performance   (course requirements)
